Mandate and Scope of Work
The mandate of YOVENCO is based on its overall goal, constitutional framework and current legal context of Somaliland; thus, its scope of work and programmatic operations are aligned with the Somaliland National Development Plan (NDPII), Sustainable Development Goals (SDSs), Millennium development Goals (MDGs) as well as other regional and global frameworks focusing on human rights, social development, environmental protections and other related frameworks. Specifically, YOVENCO currently prioritized to work on the following thematic areas:
- Child rights and governance
- Livelihood and resilience building
- Education and skills development
- Women and youth empowerment
- Awareness creation on varied thematic issues including violence against children and women, HIV & AIDS,
- environmental degradation and drug/substance abuse etc.
- Environmental protection and conservation
- Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
