This Programme Strategy has been developed to guide the Youth Volunteers for Development and Environment Conservation (YOVENCO) in its development and implementation of Programme activities – saving lives, alleviating suffering, upholding the needs and rights of displaced persons and assisting them to seek and reach durable solutions. It aims to ensure coordination and promote coherence in the content of YOVENCO’s response. This Programme strategy note is developed within the framework of the overall YOVENCO Programme response and should be read in coincidence.
Guiding Principles:-
- Participation:Ensuring the participation of local communities and beneficiaries in the selection, design and organization of projects respecting grass- root consultation and engagements.
- Accountability:To be accountable in the delivery of aid and services to government, beneficiaries and communities we serve.
- Transparency:be transparent to the donors and communities for the humanitarian work that is being delivered through YOVENCO.
- Impartiality:To be responsive to the most vulnerable community regardless of their race, religion, gender, values or origin.
- Independence:To be actor and change agency in which all of its operations and activities and not dependent to any particular interest.
Right based approach:Recognizing individuals as rights-holders (with legal entitlements to protection, assistance and freedom) and seeking to encourage those with responsibility to respect and protect the rights of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.
Theory of change:we facilitate change through participatory integrated community development approaches in order to ensure that the communities are fully participated for their own development initiatives. YOVENCO has its own theory of change policy guide which used to measure achievements vs. expected results
To implement projects and programs that cause no harm to the direct and indirect beneficiaries as well as conserving the environment.
